I'm sorry but for a man to use a woman just to get into the country (whether he's gay or just not in love with the woman) is a STINKING thing to do.

I often read the IMDB forums while still watching the movie on Netflix.
This time, though, that really changed my perception of the moving, having heard about the real-life version of the story with the twisted ending:

When I fist saw this movie I thought it was the most romantic relationship but now I juts see him as using her.
That could be partially my age, as I was TD age (well I was 25!) when it came out and now I am Stella's age.
But as I watch it now, I see little looks/little red flags that either the actors (mostly TD)didn't realize they were doing or if it WAS by design and then they predicted the future.
I wonder if I did not know Terry's story and how it all played out so terribly for her would I feel the same way?
Or does life just beat you up enough that by the time you hit 40 you look at things/life as less fantasy more realistically.
Maybe this movie is just like that.. its two different meanings depending on your age group and that's not a bad legacy for the movie to have. Non?
