What was wrong with the movie that Stella and Winston went to to see...when Winston and Stella met up with Stella's sister and her husband and Winston pointed to the movie that they saw Stella's sister said to Stella "you must be kidding"....can someone help me understand this...thanks.

I understand the meaning of the scene, but I also noticed a movie poster in the lobby scene, with a "now playing" film poster for "My Last Nerve" with some black people laughing on the poster. Obviously a broad comedy. And the actors pointed and said, "We saw that one." No such movie exists, it seems.
shareThe movie Stella & Winston saw was geared towards teens/early 20s. Her Sister and the other couple went to a movie that attracts a more mature audience. Also, remember that Stella fought with Winston that he brought home The Lion King and Booty Call for movies to watch at home. When she thought they should see something more "age appropriate" and romantic.
