something that has always bothered me...

Who is the fugly chick in the cake testing scene??? That's not Alexis Arquette is it? So weird...

"Go back to Jersey, sonny. This is the city of angels and you haven't got any wings."

reply

Actually, that wasn't a chick... that was George!

reply

No that wasn't Alexis Arquette tasting the cake. Alexis Arquette was the keyboard player in the band.

No idea who the woman was with the cake lol

reply

GEORGE.

reply

you're talking about the one at the end of the line right?

That was either just someone who worked there or someone else in the shop that butt into their group. She wasn't actually with them. That's why they all backed away from her.

reply

Ya, it was just some nobody, definitely not George. That's why Adam Sandler mouthed "who is that?" after he finished feeding her the cake.

reply

Sandler's reaction is priceless in that scene

Dragonzord! Mastodon! Pterodactyl! Triceratops! Saber Toothed Tiger! Tyrannosaurus!

reply

I've always assumed it was George without all his makeup on.

reply

Really? Some stranger at the cake shop who also happens to be at the dress shop modeling wedding dresses? Please!

Definitely George.

I don't need you to tell me how good my coffee is. .

What are you, dense? The one modelling the wedding dress is George. That's why everyone smiled at him because they KNEW him. The mystery old woman in the cake shop looks NOTHING like George, and they all edge away from her because they DON'T know her and are crept out by her.

reply

whoa! i need to watch that scene again..i always thought that was george

reply

I've always assumed it was George. Otherwise, why the hell would they offer a sample piece of wedding cake to a complete stranger? Makes no sense.

reply

I stand corrected and offer my apologies.

According to the shooting script itself (Jan 31, 1997)

Scene 36:

"Someone taps Robbie on his shoulder. He turns around, and AN ODD LOOKING WOMAN stares at him with her mouth wide open."

The script definitely would have put that person as George if that were the case.
It is assumed it's george because he's the weirdest female-looking person in the movie. It seems kind of redundant to have two of them, but there it is in black and white!

reply

I thought it was George too, and Sandler and Sammy backed away because they hated the idea of putting cake in his mouth. What an idiot.

reply

It's not George you blind morons. Man.

reply

That is EXACTLY it. Good explanation!

That's what makes it funny--they have no idea who that random stranger is who wants to sample the cake.

reply

Really? Damn, I always thought that was George.

reply

I really don't get how everyone thought it was George. I never even remotely thought that. George is pretty and that woman was fugly.

reply

Well, for me, I just thought george was 'experimenting" with his fashions and styles and this particular scene was an epic fail.

I really don't understand the point in including the fugly chick in the scene when George would have sufficed.

My "#3" key is broken so I'm putting one here so i can cut & paste with it.

reply

Have you guys never seen an Adam Sandler movie before? He always has random goofy scenes like that! It's certainly NOT George. I thought it might have been Sandler in drag, but it's not that either. It's just a random 'fugly' chick.

reply

It might have been funny had it been Sandler in drag- more funny than Sandler's "Jack and Jill" probably was

I always assumed that character was George, and that he just looked hideous in the scene...

I never noticed until recently that it isn't him!!

I think it is because George appears in the next scene with all the other characters participating in this "day out." So it seems logical that he would have been at the bakery as well, but alas, no.

Whoever that performer was though, they nailed it... Had me fooled for a while!

reply

I have always known that wasn't George from the first time I saw this movie simply by looking at that person's teeth at the bakery. Their teeth are horribly yellow, while George's teeth are a gorgeous white and very straight. Check that out again. I haven't seen anyone mention noticing that. It was the very first thing I saw in that scene. I was like, OMG check those awful teeth out, they are yellow and awful, there is no way THAT is George!!
