Who put the Reactor Core in the Hangar Bay?

Seriously. Whose idea at Lucasfilm was that? What a stupid idea.

Did it not occur to anyone in the Old Republic military in the Clone Wars all they had to do was fly into the Droid Ship hangar and fire off a couple Proton Torpedos at the Reactor Core to completely destroy the ship?

Yet we see them plain as day heavy battling at Geonosis and Coruscant in the movies, and then there's the whole Clone Wars TV series where they are some sort of fearsome craft surviving against all the odds. Even Grievous retreats to one at the beginning of Sith.

I think they did that out of convenience for story-telling. See, that hangar bay was attached to the Naboo Palace, and that power plant was there solely to power up the place, rather than the entire city around it. I think it was in the basement of the palace, maybe even the sub-basement.

The thing is, Naboo is supposed to be a peaceful planet, so most people wouldn't have a reason to attack, but then again....there was the Trade Federation mucking things up.

I know, right?

I don't expect realism for SW, but that was a bit much.

The same person who thought there should be no back up plan if the ship loses control of its droids.

I did it. Sorry 'bout that. :-)
