Who played the girl who died from the botched abortion? In the book I think her name was Dorothy, but I can't find her in the list. She looks very familiar, like Melanie Lynskey in "Heavenly Creatures."

After watching the deleted scenes of this movie and of this particular girl's story line I thought the girl sounded exactly like Liza Weil. But in the final cut of the film it most definitely was not.
I'm not sure wether what was in the deleted scenes was an original mockup of the storyline or not but the girl was very calm in it.
I'm confused; I thought Mary Agnes had the botched abortion, but survived and the burial was of the aborted fetus (despite the large casket; an orphanage probably had to take/use what was available rather than buy one custom-made).
Maybe I missed something?
I found the script on-line; the character isn't given a name in the movie, but is listed in the dialogue as "12-Year-Old Girl." The part was played by Kasey Berry; looking at her IMDB listing, it appears this was her only movie.

This confused me as well. I though it was Mary Agnes who had died. But then she appears later on in the film. It was just a smilar looking girl.
