Thomas Kent would have made more sense as Juliet

I understand that for the story to work a certain way they made Thomas Kent play Romeo - but come on, Gwyneth as a boy looks and sounds SO feminine you would think that Will would cast him as Juliet instead of the teenage boy who was supposed to play her.

Marc Norman, who wrote the original draft, had Julia Roberts in mind and Tom Stoppard had Helena Bonham Carter, both of whom would have been more realistic cross dressers but Paltrow was Weinstein's non-negotiable choice. She perfected her English accent in Sliding Doors and sounds authentic. Like Rene Zelwegger, she aimed for Stoke Newington rather than Chelsea and managed to pull it off.

Maybe 'Thomas' should have stuck to playing Romeo, then Will would have had to fill the breach as Juliet.

He was hilarious as 'er Ladyship's country cousin. Maybe the nurse. Rather nifty of the writers to have Viola cross-dressing for the stage and Will cross-dressing for the court.
