question about the end and the twelfth night


at the end of the movie, the queen tells shakespeare, "something a little lighter next time. like twelfth night." or something like that.

then he proceeds to write twelfth night based on his experiences with viola (brilliant, btw). clearly the movie and history show "twelfth night" came out after "romeo and juliet;" so what was the queen talking about?

im assuming i missed something...

No, she says "for Twelfth Night" - for the feast of Twelfth Night, 6th January, the end of the court's Christmas celebrations. And Shakespeare will indeed write the play Twelfth Night, or What You Will, at her command; the plot is assembling itself offstage, as it were, already. Shipwrecks, pirates, disguises...
