...my, but that was harsh. And I'll admit right now that I only now saw it from start to finish. It wasn't worth the wait but I at least felt that I could manage the wait.

So here are the good points: A fine cast, at points Ahnold actually comes across as vulnerable, and very well photographed.

But when I see this film and others in the genre I somehow don't feel the lead antagonist would need be so overt.

Friends ask me my idea of Catholic horror. Here's one, and it wasn't even written by a Catholic: Charles Williams' novel Descent Into He[ck]. Williams was an Inkling, and it showed.

That gentle soul G. K. Chesterton also addressed the subject, and many times. Don't be put off by his lighthearted style, for he still manages to make his point.
