"What do you think of a person

who only does the bare minimum?" That line of Stans was so condescending, talking to Joanna like she was a teenager or something. Along the lines of that she should hang her head in shame or something.. If i were in her shoes, I may not have flipped him off but I would have said that what does flair have to do with job performance.. That line was so irritating and the way he said it UGH

i had a job like that for 3 years, 80% of my time there, was spent looking out of the window at a squirrel running around and gathering food.

reply

LOL were the squirrels married?

reply

lol i'm pretty sure, they were always busy collecting food. hope they are doing well.

What he was trying to say was that having more flare would help her sell more appetizers. As a manager I'm sure he looks at her table receipts and notices that her customers just get the main course but skip out on apps and desserts.

reply

So just tell her to sell more apps. Problem solved.

reply

The joke is that manager and the restaurant follow the belief that more flare influences the customer to buy mor apps. To me it's a play on that scene from "Fast Times at Ridgemont High" when Judge Reinhold's character is forced to work at the Jolly Roger and wear a stupid Pirate costume.

reply

Ah, the existential horror of working degrading, minimum wage service jobs.
