Darron Aranofsky would be perfect for the remake! who would you cast in it?

It would be hard finding someone who can play a dumb American pop-star without us cheering Me-mania along the way.

Whoever gets cast if the remake is done should be someone that has the innocence of the main character, and therefore it would shock us when she decides to do the rape scene.

Aronofski essentially made a direct remake of this.. like as similar to the Robocop remake was to the original and then denied that the original (which he bought the film rights to) was an inspiration. Talk about insecurity.

For the character of Mima, the only woman that comes to mind would be Australian actress Emily Browning. She's got that baby face that gives her a youthful quality, and we know she can do sweet and innocent from that atrocious film, Sucker Punch. Judging from her latest film, Sleeping Beauty, I think she has the ability to star in a dark drama that would suddenly turn her from fluffy pop idol to a woman driven to the brink of insanity.
