So, remember when Paige knew he was evil from several episodes at the end of S4, then Piper believed it, but Phoebe refused to? Then Phoebe finally has a premonition where she sees that Cole IS evil again. How could Cole not foresee that this could happen and try to prevent it? Like prevent her from getting premonitions about him? He should be able as The Source's powers, right? Just thought it was so risky from the moment he became evil again, and just waited for Phoebe to have that premonition about him... nevertheless those episodes are one of the best of the show

The Source did protect him from Phoebe's premonitions. That's how he got away with it for so long. The Seer mentions it in one of the episodes.

I can't remember the explanation for how she finally got that premonition of him in the end. May have been because she was pregnant, gaining new powers and had evil growing inside of her.

Phoebe's power growing because of the baby and also the humanity within Cole/Source was growing stronger after learning Phoebe was pregnant. Hence Cole/Source acting happy and ordering baby stuff online which Julie caught him doing and worried this 'weakness' would be his downfall. I guess humanity and increased love for pregnant Phoebe, weakened the Source's powers and influence within Cole, finally allowing Phoebe to have a premonition.

I wonder....did the baby want Cole vanquished? If he really was soulless then all he would've wanted would be power and throne. Didn't even care if he caused Phoebe pain or not with its antics. Oh and of course tried to kill Paige.

Nothing is impossible, the word itself says I'm possible.

It was the Source's power that was protecting Cole. It's mentioned several times and the Seer explicitly states that Cole needs to not give into the love he feels or all will be lost and Phoebe will be able to receive premonitions about him - which is exactly what happens.

I guess he just loved Phoebe too much for his own good in the end :<
