They were referred to as Halliwell witches, and since the spell calls upon their ancestors.........they're part of the Warren line. Obviously. We don't need to be acquainted with every single entry in the family tree.

Shows like Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Supernatural go out of their way to explain their lore and history while Charmed barely has concern for its own continuity, let alone going into detail on fascinating points.
Further, the Warren/Halliwell family tree is an important part of the shows core theme: Family and the bond of sisterhood. If anything, we SHOULD be acquainted with more than just a few members. We SHOULD see how other witches in their line handled themselves and their bonds to their loved ones.
I always enjoy when users want to know/speculate on a part of this show. Charmed has the potential to be a show with rich discussion. But, all this board ever sees is "What if Prue DIDN'T leave" posts because people like you don't wish to be acquainted with anything more in depth. Obviously.
Supernatural also had the Wizard of Oz and its fanbase mostly consists of desperate schoolgirls and horny desperate housewives who throw fits and get actors fired from the show.........wouldn't exactly lend much credence to that one.
share...LoL!! True. It started off in a good place but kinda "derailed" after awhile. And, to be honest, Buffy the Vampire Slayer gets it right until Season 6, when the show begins to favor Spike over the nuances it was known for. Idk if you watch Grimm but I feel THAT show is the most guilty of "fans rage to change the show for the worse."
Also, sorry if I came off a bit antagonistic in my original reply. Recently had a debate on another board with a user who was trying to justify the "shut down" argument for posts/topics he didn't think were worthy of discussing. Shouldn't have directed some of that at you.

Hard to know... The full spell includes Prudence, Penelope, Patricia, Melinda (I assume that's Prue, and not Prudence, Melinda Warren's daughter) Astrid, Helena, Laura and Grace. If you look at the family tree, the last four Warren women are a little randomly chosen, as they are never mentioned as particularly more powerful witches than the rest in the line, and they are neither among the first or recent women of the line either. Would like to know why them, specifically
