Canadian contestants?

Did they rescind their decision of allowing no more Canadian contestants? In the past couple of weeks, there have been 2 contestants from Canada, namely from Toronto, ON and Hamilton, ON.

Of course, when the contestant is introduced, and he/she is from Canada (regardless of WHERE in Canada), I always cheer. 

I have to cheer on my fellow canucks, EH? 

They tape the shows a while back, so the rule I think applied for possible contestants going forward from the date of the announcement, which was sometime in February or so. It seems that those contestants were already in the pool.

But, possibly new contestants such as through the online test would exclude Canadians.

That is how I see it.

So, you might even see some Canadians next season if they took the test in 2015. Plus, of course, there is the possibility of Canadians living in the USA being on the show, that haven't gained citizenship (if they even want to). Generally, I don't see how Canadian law would apply to them when they aren't on Canadian soil esp. if they use American email and internet, since that is the crux of the Canadian issue.

What prompted the decision not to let Canadians be contestants?

Canadians are 1/10th the population of the US but look at all of them that there are in entertainment. All forms, music, movies and TV. How many times have you been surprised to find out that someone famous is really a Canadian?

Canadians must be trying to take over the US. they must be controlled or else.

Looks like another one slipped thru and got past the ban yesterday. He must have lied aboot where he was from.

Just an update on this, I can confirm that Canadian contestants are once again fully eligible for the show. I am a Canadian who has an audition next month and I was confirmed without any issues, they have also updated the online FAQ as it regards to Canadians.

The announcements for the online testing have been including the line: "That means you too, Canada," so I think it's pretty definite that Canadian contestants are not only welcome but encouraged to compete.
