Seth--Spoilers ahead

Seth kept winning because the runners up kept wimping out on final wagers...until tonight. He kept counting on the others missing final...that strategy only goes so far, but he ended up one of the top 5 winners anyway. Any other thoughts?

There were 1.3 million people according to ESPN. Die hard sports fan will travel all over the country to support their teams so a lot of those people probably came from all over.

reply

No. Crowd estimates are notoriously difficult. Just because ESPN says 1.3 million doesnt make it so. This is exactly my point, nobody says "your estimate of 1.3 million is absurd". I never even saw a picture of the celebration, and I know Im leaving myself open for abuse, but I bet there wasnt a tenth of that present. Even 130,000 seems a lot because that would be in the ballpark of 1 out of ten people who live in the area. Most would prefer to watch on TV.

He never saw that coming. I glad it was an unassuming middle-aged lady who took him down.

I bet she doesn't last more than 1 day. I'd be surprised.

I haven't seen today's episode yet.

That seems to happen a lot: a long-running champ gets beaten and the person who did it loses the next game. I don't think I've seen one who went to their second game at least.

Annoying the world since 1960!

reply

That's what I was thinking.

Also she didn't play very well up until the last few minutes of the game that she won and would have lost if Seth hadn't made such a stupid wager.

With the wager he made I felt like he wanted to lose and be off the show! Why else would he not go for more money?

reply

I agree, I think he threw the game. He's got a dissertation to work on.

and lots of sweaters to buy with his winnings.

True Honk, I always says when a player beats a long time champion they wind up losing the next night and it happened in this case.

reply

Great. So he finally lost, and I missed it because it was preempted by Hurricane Matthew coverage. Grrr.
