Better than The Lost World

Despite the ridiculous plot, lack of character development, no mention of InGen and short runtime, I think it's way more entertaining and terrifying than the predecessor. I think TLW was too crowded with annoying characters that I couldn't care less and took itself way too serious, and for me it completely derailed into cliches and campiness once they characters went to San Diego.

A more concise cast, Sam Neill's charisma, comic relief from Paul Kirby, Spinossaurus fight with the T. rex and the thrilling setpieces made it closer to the simplicity and fun of the original. It didn't try to be anything more than pure popcorn entertainment, I just wish the film was like 15-30 minutes longer. Anyway, I think it's the last watchable JP movie.

Couldn't agree more - it is exactly what I wanted - dinosaur attacks. Get me to the island and let's get to it. It fits that perfectly... I mean, they haven't even left the runway before it all starts.

This movie has a lot of rewatchability, unlike The Lost World, which is insanely preachy, especially when you're talking about dinosaur clones. Not to mention those preachy heroes are the reason all the hell broke loose anyway!

Well said. I ranted about JP3 being too short, but on the other hand, I wonder if the filmmakers thought they didn't have much else to show because of the lame plot, at least nothing related to characterization. Maybe they wanted to make the film straight to the point and not pad out like TLW sequences in San Diego which I hated.

I know the screenplay wasn't based on a Chricton's book this time, but I still wish that the writers could have created a storyline that included InGen or John Hammond in some way, in order to extend the runtime a bit.

i agree.

i agree. it is a really stupid movie but it also quite entertaining. TLW is slow, boring, and equally as stupid without anything positive to say about it. JP3 is great

Agreed, I actually enjoyed this one. It is quite fun and very rewatchable. The Spinossaurus makes for a great bad dino.
