Eric with Empire Strikes Back?

We all know Eric loved Star Wars.

I just wonder what his reaction would have been to the ending of Empire Strikes Back? Would he have talked about it non stop? Would he have hated it? Would it have completely blown his mind? I would have been 6 or so when that movie came out so I vaguely remember people loudly reacting to the famous Vader line. SO I have this visual in my head of Eric physically standing up in surprise at the theater.

Eric's reaction to Star Wars in general was just a little detail about the show that made his character work.

It fit his character but I thought it was inconsistent. He didn't seem like that big of a fan during the episode where they first see the movie.

Kelso on the other hand seemed like a huge fan and his lack of enthusiasm about it later when Eric brings it up doesn't really fit what was previously established.

I would have liked a few mentions of both Eric and Kelso anxiously awaiting the sequel and having plans to go see it.

The dropping of Kelso's obsession with the movie bothered me more than the out of nowhere obsession by Eric.

some peoples obsessions fade over time. Kelso didn't seem like anything besides boobs or beer could keep his attention for very long.

Eric's obsession wasn't out of nowhere. His reaction to seeing it was nearly a religious expierence. He couldn't shut up about it.

He doesn't become obsessed with Star Wars until season five. He did like the movie in the Star Wars episode, but it was Kelso who was obsessed and Eric barely mentioned it until season five.

AWW *beep* IT'S WAYNE BRADY SON!

I think he would have loved that Vader is actually Luke's father.

reply

I'll buy into that theory. If Eric sees himself as Luke, he sees Red (pun intended) as his perpetual Vader nemesis.
