an alternative idea to the cheesy bed purgatory scene near the end
We could've seen Frodo lying unconscious in bed, with Gandalf watching over him. Then show Frodo up at a table, clearly not feeling well yet, but, up at a table, eating soup, sitting next to Gandalf. Then, they could've shown Frodo on a bench, and then the others making their entrance and way to him. Plus, when Frodo first saw Bilbo at Rivendell, Bilbo was sitting on a bench, so this would've drawn a nice parallel. This all could've been done sans dialogue, but backed by a score, and no creepy slow-mo and bright lighting.
