Ignore the ratings for Black movies on IMDB. The ratings are fairer on Amazon. Watched this movie twice when it came out -- it was pretty good, although I could have done without all the cussing and sex.
sharefriday, boyz n the hood & menace ii society were the only black movies from back in the day that i saw have decent ratings on here...all the others have 5-6s.
i'm not really surprised but it's kinda frustrating when i see bollywood movies or other kind of niche foreign films that the average american can't connect to because that's not what they were brought up around (the reasoning that's used for why black films get slighted) get rated highly, yet movies made right here in our own backyard can't get recognized.
