I don't recall her actually referring to what happened as revenge or payback. You can't confuse what really happened and how Harper decided to play it out in his book. Two totally different things. Personally she turned to her friend, who also happened to be Lance's boy. Even though it was not explicitly said, even I got the impression that when this occurred, she had broken up with Lance. I will have to check it out again.

Yes Mia and Lance were together, she knew about his cheating, and turned to Harper for comfort. My guess (in hinsight) that she was perhaps hoping Harper would have told Lance so that he knew he was not the only one doing their relationship wrong.
Of course Harper kept hush ... Lance later on (after finding out via book) admitted to Harper that he knew she was no longer pure but never guessed his friend would have been the one to have slept w/ her.
Mia admitted the affair to Jordan (either at her house or while they were hanging out) ~ stating how she knew about the other women and that he (Harper) was there for her when she needed someone.
