People actually love this crap?

I'm pretty surprised if this thing could've been in the top 250. This is why me and my mom dislike anime! I mean, I am very against the child abuse here. Asuka is my favorite character and she was ripped apart without much detail on her split arm or what happened to her after all those spears fell on her eva at the end of the fight.

Asuka is supposed to be a main character and she had only a medium amount of screen time in it. Even then, they're just explaining all that's happened with her in the series and Shinji's imagination.

The ending was very confusing. So, Asuka has recovered... and Shinji chokes her? Also, why is Shinji so manic in this movie?

This was an insult to the above average series yet it is getting so much praise. People must like it for the fact that Asuka only had little screentime and only appeared every now and then.

I disliked this ending and the ending to the tv series.

I hope that there is an Evangelion video game where you can beat Asuka up!

NGE is very atypical anime. Check out the films of Miyazaki and Studio Ghibli for something more typical, though still excellent.

I mean, I am very against the child abuse here.

No real children were harmed in the making of this film.

Asuka is supposed to be a main character

Asuka has her peak episode in 22, just like Rei does in 23. The finale belongs to the main protagonist, Shinji, with Asuka and Rei playing supporting (but still important) roles.

The ending was very confusing. So, Asuka has recovered... and Shinji chokes her? Also, why is Shinji so manic in this movie?

NGE has a very metaphorical take on human biology: everyone is just bodies of LCL imbued with souls. Souls don't die and can reform with LCL. See Rei.

Shinji's choking of Asuka is an echo of what he does at the start of Instrumentality. Shinji is "manic" because he killed his best (in his mind, only) real friend in ep. 24, and just went through the apocalypse in the film.

I hope that there is an Evangelion video game where you can beat Asuka up!


