Blu-Ray release?
Anyone hear anything about this coming out on Blu-Ray in the near future?

This movie has been advertised for Blu-Ray release since early 2007! It was in the "Coming Soon" blu-ray advertisement on my Casino Royale Blu-Ray... Thats more than FOUR YEARS!... I don't think that can be considered "Coming Soon" anymore!
Once Upon a Time in Mexico was also shown in that advertisement, and it was just released in January!!!
I'm amazed that this wasn't one of the first blu-rays released! Sony was ALL OVER the Blu-Ray format, and with the format war in full swing in late 2007, this could have been one of thier showcase blu-rays!

it's still not out yet and it's March 2012. perhaps it'll come if people contact Columbia Tri-Star and ask them to produce Bad Boys 2 for Blu Ray. companies do that supply and demand thing, and if there's a huge demand for it they'll make it. just like they do when people demand high end bullet proof vests or handcuffs, some company will make them and places where high end cuffs and vests are needed such as major metropolitan areas tend to go for stronger cuffs and body armor.

there's enough of a demand to get a blu ray for Mystery Men as it's one of those "cult classics" that is worth the production for that niche market. Also, the company that produces and distributes them probably have enough backing in order to produce Mystery Men and perhaps there wasn't as many regular DVD sales so it's easier to produce and sell Mystery Men Blu Ray since people will probably pay for a "cult classic" Blu Ray copy as there probably not as many regular Mystery Men DVDs.
for Bad Boys, it's a bit more work with the larger distribution companies and Blu Ray manufacturers and such. you could always go write to the Bad Boys distributers and producers and such and they could get it on blu ray. also, since there's plenty of regular DVD copies of bad boys 2, there might not be as much demand for Blu-Ray copies (yet) as who wants to spend another $25-30 or so after they already have a copy of Bad Boys 2
Just curious, but those who have watched it in HD on HBO, how was it? The picture quality on the DVD is already good. I could just imagine how it would look in HD.
