We know that Peter Craig is writing the script, but with Michael Bay doing Transformers 3 I dont think there will be real exciting update until next year, but at least now Martin Lawrence talks about what he thinks is happening.

8 years between sequels is a little excessive.
I hope this third film doesn't revolve around Will Smith. But judging from Martin's interview, it looks like that may be the case.
shareIt's a buddy cop movie, so it should be evenly balanced.When the first film came around, both guys had about the same level of fame.But, Will Smith is currently way out of Martin Lawrence's league, so it wouldn't surprise me if his character took the lead.
sharei think they should do a little role reversal in the third one with will wanting to calm down his lifestyle a little and then something tragic happens to martin i.e. his sister getting killed working for the DEA or him being targeted at his home by someone he put away so he snaps and goes all cowboy like smith did
just keep gabby union out of the friggin picture she was soooo bad and also keep dr dre away from the score because damn the man is talented but his score alone made it nothing like the first film
bring back that opening theme
nah i think they have a formula that they are not going to change, the way they have managed characters so far has worked.
