refused to wear prison issued clothes because that's what guilty people wear. I don't if that part was based off the real story or made up, but I don't think I've seen that in any other prison movie. I thought to myself if for some reason I ever get wrongfully convicted I'll do the same thing :D (provided that I can first withstand the pressure, and just put the clothes on, he had to spend 90 days in a hole)

Rubin Carter,in the movie,is an inspirational person who managed to survive the odds that he has faced in life and he never gave up inspite of the unfairness and brutalities he has experienced in spending 30 years of his first 50 years in prison.

That will help people realize never to give up easily in life regardless of the odds.
