Info on DVDs

Just in case anyone was interested out there:

If you do a search for Gullah Gullah Island, one of the top sites that will appear is the gullahgullah.com website, run and operated by Ron and Natalie Daise themselves. This is the only place so far that I've found that sells episodes of Gullah Gullah Island. The catch is that they arn't licensed to sell them, so they give them as gifts when you make purchased of $50 or more on their website.

It is very pricey, and I wouldn't want to pay that much right now (even if I could afford it). But, personally, I loved the show as a kid; I admit that I still love to watch the show when I'm up late enough to catch it on Noggin. It has such great energy, music, and stories, and I hope that it I can pass the joy that it gave me onto my own kids. My willingness to pay the cost may change when I actually do have kids later in life, but for now, it's still too expensive for me.

One hopeful solution: if you're into TV shows (for yourself or your kids), tvshowsondvd.com keeps you updated on the news for individual shows, and they also let you vote on what shows you want. I'm hoping that the more people vote for it's release on websites like that, the more likely it will be that those licensed to actually release it will do so. If you enjoy this show as much as I do, go vote!
