Although I thought Jared Leto was terrific in his acting I just could not see him as a drug addict junkie . He looked too good . His teeth were bleach white , perfect flawless skin etc. I have been around many junkies and they look like death especially heron addicts , skin and teeth are always the first to go !
shareWell, they all went from very casual users to junkies through the course of the movie and it took place in just one year. So they didn't have time to get super messed up. Especially since they'd been able to keep their habits up through half the time and weren't withdrawing/suffering until the end.

I'm a good looking addict with white teeth. Drug taking makes most people lazy so hygiene isn't top of their priorities. Not all drug addicts are really skinny, don't work and have no teeth!!
