Why didn't they continue GISS as an ongoing car action franchise ?

The GISS remake isn't great, but it made money and should've been continued (and still can be continued, but I greatly doubt if the producers could afford Angelina, who they got cheap on this film) as an ongoing franchise, with the success of the Fast and Furious films.

Any sequels wouldn't have to be about stealing cool cars again, but feature something else car racing action related.

The last line there says that you just want a series about cars going fast called "gone in 60 seconds"...Sounds like a really *beep* poorly thought-out idea..

You want series about car action ? Check out the four Fast and Furious movies which are by far superior that Gone In 60 Seconds in every department.

no reason relly to continue the story. the brother was saved and they quit the business. you would have to force the issue.

Yeah, they'd have to dig up some old rival or something and I'm not even sure if that would be enough to warrant a sequel.
