Perhaps I'm mistaken about the timeline, but didn't she just earn an Academy Award for best actress in a movie when this movie was released? Looking at her lame performance in "Gone in Sixty Seconds" I can't help but be absolutely astonished!

She won one for Girl Interrupted which have to admit she was great in :)

I agree that she was great in "Girl, Interrupted", but not Oscar worthy in my opinion. I will give he that, but in the movie "Gone in Sixty Seconds" she was just mediocre. The Academy Awards is all politics.
