Having just said I'd never buy this on DVD in another thread, I'm now curious what difference there is between the regular DVD and the Directors Cut? Are any scenes altered at all? Is anything extra added to the film? And is the shocking CG used during the final chase still in there?
shareThe DC just adds a little more showing Ribisi's home and his love of cars and then an extra lap during the final car chase. Not too much at all. Just kind of makes it longer, you know?
shareIt actually adds about 10min to the car chase. The most important aspect of the movie, if your a fan of the original 1974 film.

shareThe DC adds additonal footage to the chase, including memphis scrambling to lose cops on a city street and the police SUVs( the one that is wrecked by a wrecking Ball) pursuit is longer.
ALso, Memphis and kips story arc is slightly altered with Memphis being a bigger brother.
When kip ask "Can we make it in time? "Memphis goes off saying that he treating this night like a keg party, when really all these people are putting their butts on the line for kip.
