Am I supposed to be scared by Hannibal Lecter riding on a merry go round? One of a handful of unintentional laughs.

I don't think you're supposed to be scared, it was just showing that he was a step ahead of her.. He had all the power as he could do all of that and still not be caught

It's quite possible that he wanted to be caught so that things could unfold precisely how they did once Clarice showed up at Verger's estate.

This carousel is at the White Oaks Mall in Springfield, IL. My son just rode on it today.
