Questions...

I just watched Ring2 and have some questions.

1. What was the stuff that guy found in the bathtub? Was it hair?

2. What was up with that one girl in the tape the guy made where he was trying to erase that part where she'd shake her head and it got all weird and black and whitish? And when she was coming closer, did she come out of the screen?

3. Why the *beep* did Mai look down after Ryuji told her not to?

Oh, yeah, a couple more questions.

4. Who was the girl that died? It wasn't Masami, was it?

5. Why was the tape in Masami's head? She never watched it, she just saw Sadako kill Tomoko.

6. Why did everyone in the hospital freak out? Did she scream or something, or did she send out a bad feeling?

7. It's over, at the end. Right? Everyone who watched the tape is dead now.

4) which girl?

5) i suppose that a personal appearance from sadako, while not enough to kill, is enough to 'infect' her... explain how you want i think it just shows how powerful sadako and her curse are. even being close to her can, a) send you loopy and b) implant the video in your head. i kinda got the impression that she so unresponsive cos she's just got the video on a loop (pun intended) in her head.

6) hmm, dunno. i didn't really think about this one much. i guess bad vibes probably had something to do with it. maybe all the patients are, mentally, in a different place and can pick up on these things... talking rubbish now.

7) erm, well, i think sadako is supposed to have been exorcised or appeased and therefore it's all over but i really don't think very much of the ending.

There was only one dead body in the movie, I think, right? Oh, wait... Asakawa, too.... but I meant the one that died by Sadako. Was that Kanae? It didn't look like her to me, it looked more like Masami.

well kanae is the one who dies because okazaki betrays her and doesn't watch the tape but you don't see her body do you? it's been so long now... i suppose you see tomoko's death from masami's perspective too...

Not true, lol, Yoichi's mum gets hit my a truck once they are outside of the police station and trying to decide what to do. You don't see it happening but when Mai gets outside, you find Yoichi crouching by the curb and then blood coming out from under it. The weird thing is is the blood is whispering his name!

hmmm, k, so what's not true about what i said? not very specific i'll admit but not incorrect.

a recent survey suggested that 3 out of 4 people made up 75% of the population.

It's been too long since i last watched ring2 but IIRC...
1) burnt remains of the videotape(s)

2) that's a great moment isn't it. Ring2, for me, is about the far-reaching effects of the video and the curse. in ring we see that if you watch the tape and don't copy it/show it to someone, you die. In ring2 we see people having a really tough time without necesarily having seen the tape. masami came face-to-face with sadako and is now pretty messed up and able to project the tape and, presumably, the curse. because okazaki (the reporter) didn't watch the tape kanae (the girl who gave him the tape) died but that obviously wasn't the end for her. throughout the ring films sadako's victim crop up in various ways (ryuji under the towel (IMO it ryuji anyway), tomoko talking to yoichi etc.) but kanae really just haunts okazaki taking her revenge on him.
Theringworld.com's faq mentions that, in the books watching the tape causes the watcher to 'download' sadako's genetic information. maybe kanae, by watching the tape and dying from it gained some of sadako's powers... theories, theories - i just think it's a great moment!

3)lol, curiosity i suppose.

Burnt remains of the tape? Well, why would that make her sick? I'd just be like, oookay then but I wouldn't get sick about seeing that.

My grandfather used to work for your grandfather. Of course the rates have gone up.

Why would that make her sick? Anyone know?

Well, I think she's a bit of a whimp in the Ring2, but I have to give Mai the benifit of the doubt. The tape didn't look pretty did it, it looked gross in the tub.

*Doing the Samara dance* Would you like to join me?

i think that mai, much like ryuji, was psychic (or whatever you want to call it) and was picking up on the evil of sadako on the tape.

think back to when she sees the hands appear on the balcony of her apartment...

or maybe it's just that sadako's evil is so strong it affects everyone.

ymmv

Ever smelled burned plastic? It's a pretty gross smell, and up close it can make some people lightheaded and queasy.

Made who sick?!?!
The remains of the burnt tape didn't make anybody sick. The intact tape(s) do....

Reiko burns it, probably out of frustration and powerlessness..
