Curious if anyone else noticed.....

First of all this is a great movie, but I was wondering if anyone else noticed that it had alot of similarities to a number of richard bach books? Richard Bach himself turned out to be a lying hypocrit but the ideas where nice so I don't believe this should take from the movie which unlike Bach calls itself fiction. At any rate it seems to me that the writers of the kid draw inspiration from several of bach's books which at the very least would turn some hippy drival into a very nice story.

I don't know Bach, but the film has also some similarities with a story from the german writer Marie Luise Kaschnitz. In german the story is called 'Das dicke Kind' (The fat child), which is also about a woman facing herself as a child. Pretty funny story. I love this moovie.

Yes, thank you. Since the first time I saw this movie I have tried to find any reference to a connection between the movie and Richard Bach.

There are just too many things reminiscent of Bach - the flying motif, the "time" and "space" travel, the inner child connection. Surely the movie is based on Running From Safety. Can anybody confirm that?

And I think you're being a little harsh on Bach.

Richard Bachman is Stephen King, but let me tell you, there is no way to confuse a Richard Bach book with a Richard Bachman book. A Bachman book was more like the ones that George Stark was writing, in "The Dark Half." They were way more violent and much darker than what the King books were at the time. I hope that helps.
