I don't know how to read hindi so I was wondering if anyone could tell me what the tattoo on Devdas' arm said. They showed it as one of the final shots and in the movie the servant who told Paro that there was a man outside also said that the man had an unfinished tattoo on his arm. I was just curious as to what it said so if anyone can help me, it's much appreciated. Thanks.

I watched that bit over and over trying to figure out what it said when the camera was glancing over his arm, but could never figure it out.

shareActually it wasn't a servant who told Parvati that it was Devdas lying outside in front of the mansion it was actually her stepson, Mahendra. And the tattoo on Devdas' arm was in fact Paro's name I believe. Because Mahendra tells her "The name was tattood on his arm." And she says, "Yes, it rained, at a fair, incomplete tattoo." It can only be her name.

It said Dev, in Hindi, followed by a hyphen "-" and then the hindi letter P. Paro's name was incomplete.
