Bad casting

This has got to be the worst group of people ive ever seen on Survivor - im not cheering for, or even like any of them.

I thought last season was the worst cast ever, but I was wrong, this one is. I wonder if they are doing it on purpose or just ran out of interesting people.

reply

lol not Jabba the hut, but Bubba the gut - took me a minute. To me the show should feature good looking, athletic people in their 20's and 30's. Yeah they all don't have to be models, but this group looks like they went down to the local bus station and said hey you want to be on a tv show?

reply

lol thanks! Someone gets it! I was thinking the same thing. I think they are just playing it safe now a days with vanilla people. The show has changed a lot just in the past few years.

reply

When did it start? Even though you are saying its the worst cast yet now I feel like watching. Maybe that's why...are they different than the way it was laid out before? A couple old people thrown in with a couple middle aged and then all the beautiful people?

reply

They must know. Ratings continue to drop. It's why they have resorted to gimmicks like Rob and Sandra. I agree, its another season of very bland castaways. I feel like it's been this way for several seasons. The show does best with a proper villain, and smart but aggressive players. Nobody likes to rock the boat anymore.

reply

It's getting very stale. The whole Rob and Sandra thing adds nothing, as well.

reply

Nothing. Sandra doesn't even talk. I'm assuming they still have a twist in store with these two, but they're just dragging the show down for the worse and the reward challenges (and social scheming that stems from them) are sorely missed.

reply

Nobody is losing weight yet either. I like to see how everyone gets slim, but this group looks well fed all the time.

reply

Been that way a few years now. They don't starve these people anymore. Bugs me cause competing for food to stay strong was a huge part of the game. It also effected alliance structure. Resulting now in straight up popularity contests.

reply

I think they felt they had to change it when that one blonde years and years back was skinny to begin with and then looked almost anorexic by the time she left because she was so thin.

That said, my favorite moment was in Season 2 when the survivors were literally out in the dark fording a river trying to salvage their rice hanging in a tree after they cluelessly set up camp in the dry riverbed that got washed out when the rains came.

reply

Yeah, that moment endeared me to the show a great deal.

I remember a couple people collapsed in the middle of the challenges, they were so weak and they had to shut things down. It was right after that they phased starving out of the game.

lol remember when mini Russell destroyed all the rice and it didn't really matter? I think that was actually him making a point of exactly that.

reply

If I was running the show, I would change it up and have one tribe and then once they got to the immunity challenge, they would draw to see which team they would be on and that team would go to Tribal immediately after the challenge was over. This way it would be almost impossible to form alliances since you have no idea which team you will be on.
