Can anyone explain a simple way what actually happened please?

What happened is Thora Birch's character was infatuated with Mike and helped orchestrate this little party in a bunker Martyn had showed her before and probably gave her the key too. She hoped that Mike would fall in love with her down in the bunker. When that wasn't happening, and he was about to leave, she locked them all in there...still hoping to gain his attention and just to keep spending time with him. In the process the other girl dies, and then Mike kills the other guy when he finds he was hoarding soda. In his delirium and desperation he says he loves Thora Birch character...this is what she wanted, so is fine letting them out of the hole. Of course he is angry when he realizes she had been trapping them all along, tries to attack her but falls and gets smashed by the ladder.

So basically she was a sociopath who trapped everyone in a hole because she was wanted to spend time with a guy.

Also when Martyn came to see her later, feeling betrayed that she blamed it on him to the police, she planted the key in him and pushed him off the bridge...to incriminate him (his dead body) so she'd never get in trouble for any of it.

She didn't seem to have remorse.
