Fake MP's

Anybody else feel right away there was something seriously off about the English speaking Germans masquerading as MP's? Even before the Captain who got his head blown off started to get suspicious. Their English was perfect enough but....there was that whole "you're going the wrong way" line and the Sign Post turned in the wrong direction. When they started yelling orders to Lt. Hart, first in English then in German my blood went cold. Such a scary thought that the guy you think is on your side is in fact the enemy. Operation Greif was by far one of the scariest battle field ops the Germans ran.

That's the first thing that I thought of when I saw the scene develop. Of course reading so much about the Battle of the Bulge and Operation Greif helped a great deal in noticing what was going to happen.

Yeah I had that thought too, because I know about Skorzeny and Greif. But what if you didn't know about Operation Greif? What would you think of that ambush?

The viewer would just think "WTF!!!!" as the scene developed I guess. Later it is mentioned in the movie as to what was going on. To fully understand what was happening, I guess that the viewer would have to break out a history book or google it (shudder the thought) to find out what was happening on their own. Too many people get their history lessons from movies these days.
