'Brutal' POW camp?!?

This is a "brutal" camp? This is a summer vacation resort! Germans did indeed treat US and English prisoners like spoiled kids in the camps, especially compared to how they treated the imprisoned "Untermenschen", but even so... Jeez, they even give a show spoofing Hitler at one moment, and nobody's pulling their fingernails the next day. They're in a country club. And they complain.

Then again, in "Stalag 17" the prisoners also do a show mocking Hitler and give the Sergeant a "Heil Hitler" salute.

It might have been allowed, particularly if the guards didn't care so much for Hitler.

both films are not history.

although, unecessarily noted, Stalag 17 is a far better film...

reply

I was wondering if the camp from the movie could have existed. It seemed so tame.
