I cried at the end of this movie

This movie is quite moving. At the beginning of this movie, I thought it was just another war crap, however, as it was going on and on I got attracted by this movie. At the end, I cried a little bit (not bawling). I think it is one of the best war movies I have ever seen. The reason I recommend this movie so much is because I can really learn something from it, and I believe this is the best way I want to learn it. Just like the end of this movie says "I came to understand honor, duty, responsibility and sacrifice".

The ending was too forced to get any kind of emotion out of me.

What I liked was the part where the black airman consigns himself to his fate of being executed, to show his son the meaning of honor.

**SPOILERS**

For example we can learn that a trigger happy Colonel thinks its a perfectly responsible idea to jeopardize the lives of his troops by breaking out of a POW-camp in january 1945 to blow up a ammunition plant. And paying for the secrecy of that truly war-decisive plan with the lives of two men.
