I was watching this movie on television, and wasn't really paying attention :(. During one part of the movie, the american soldiers are watching a play parodying nazis (right after this scene, an american fighter plane is downed in the camp). Anyway, I first heard the song the soldiers were singing a few years ago while watching a WWII-era Disney cartoon, and was wondering what the song was called.

the song that the american soldiers are dancing to in their little play is called "Der Fuehrer's Face" the lyrics can be found on the net easy enough. That was one of the more popular farcical songs of world war two and I think they chose this one in the movie because it's one that some people would recognize, rather like how wen thinking of a song in german people would associate themselves with the song "lili marlene"
the disney cartoon is really cool, I just thought it great that disney did alot toward the war effort
as for the song they deemed as modern in the kommandants office I'm sad to say I dont know because I can't remember. though if you look online for the soundtrack listing for that movie I'm sure you'd be able to find it easily enough
