House of 1000 Corpses made the list.

That list is ridiculous. Some of the greatest films of all time on there. Really? The Shining? I'm glad House of 1000 corpses got put on there, because whoever wrote this it's safe to assume he/she is an imbecile.

While we're all entitled to our opinions on this matter, one thing is FACTUAL: that list was almost dead accurate - with the exception of 'The Shining'. I didn't agree with some of the pointers of his review, but perhaps he's not that big a Kubrick fan. And amazingly, 'The Amityville Horror' didn't make the list...

Doesn't take a genius to realize the rest of the films listed were rotten tomatoes garnished. I almost slept through Hostel, Scream, and Saw (in spite it being Cary Elwes). A horribly produced film is a horribly produced film.

That's half of Hollywood's ongoing problem. Part of creating a good film, including horror, is a talented cast (dahhh), and an excellent script (double dah). Unfortunately, we don't always get that. Fans flock to the movie (anyway) because of a favorite star in the title. So what? Doesn't mean the movie is great.

And yes, Elwes has done much better horror & suspense films than SAW.

I for one never rooted for the Firefly family in either movie. I liked this movie because it was like watching someone's nightmare. Everything from the editing to the multi-color carnival like settings, to the random cut scenes all done in negative. There was hardly a moment in this movie that felt like it was grounded in reality. I guess you could say this movie is all style over substance but whatever, better to have style and no substance than not style or substance.

Damn, that list is a mess.

I disagree. There are already tons of movies where the killers are mute, faceless villains in masks. While that might be scarier for some people, there's nothing wrong with giving horror movie villains a bit of personality too. For me, that the fact that this family laughs and jokes while committing acts of violence and murder actually makes them scarier because it shows just how seriously they take human life. Murder to them is like a child playing a fun arcade game.

I agree with a lot of movies on that list. But if the American version of The Ring is included, then the American version of The Eye should definitely also be included, because it is a far worse remake. I would also include the remake of The Haunting with Owen Wilson, ugh.

I don't agree with The Shining on that list. While it would be interesting to see a version of The Shining that is more loyal to the book, they've already tried that, and it was terrible. You are just not going to top this Kubrick classic. And I'm not even a Kubrick fan!

Quite a number on the list I disagree with, (Scream/Shining/Ring/1000 Corpses)...More shocked at what didn't make the list! I disagree about The Shining, but his reasons are valid.

I do agree with Saw though, and am glad to see I'm not the only one.

If I wanted to listen to an Ass hole I'd fart. Captain Spaulding, 2003.
