You've watched too many movies. Most all handgun calibers will not break a lock like the one on the security tape locker (hardened steel). He would need a rifle to even hope to penetrate that steel. I didn't see anyone with a rifle. If you don't believe me take a padlock to the shooting range...
shareI think it was tried on Mythbusters, and it took a rather powerful rifle to blow the lock off. Anyway, I wouldn't want to be around for the ricochet/shrapnel.
