References to 'China'

There're at least three references to 'China' in the script:

The "Hao Long is a Chinaman" joke on Jimmy
- "...I came all the way from way from China in a matchbox."
- "Cute as a Chinese baby."

To me, these are all veiled references to the fact that Jimmy (Sam Rockwell) is being Shanghai'ed.
I can't believe no one has seen this yet.
I may have missed it if it was posted before, but, really, this is pretty obvious. Another (even more obscurely veiled but no less relevant) reference would be to the movie "Chinatown" (1974). As anyone who's seen this unparalleled masterpiece could tell you, Chinatown is a place where nothing is as it seems and all bets are off.
David Mamet's one of the current generation's more gifted plot/script writers; "Chinatown" was probably an inspiration for him and lots of other writers, hence the references to China.
Now Mamet as a director...well, the less said, the better. This movie was good, but it may have been great in a different world. A world where Mamet didn't direct and unicorns ran free.
