Gold switching *SPOILER

The only disappointing thing about the film is the lack of creativity in the heist. Otherwise the film was pretty good. The only thing that happens is the gold is switched 20 times with where its location is suppose to be. Thats basically everything to the heist. The only more intelligent plot to the heist is blowing up a small building to distract from the robbery and once u think about it, its not that intelligent. I'll admit some parts it had me going, but by the 3rd time they switched the gold every we "hopelessly lost and De vito now will get the gold" scene no longer tricked me.

Doesnt anyone else agree?

I dont agree. Maybe the heist is not over the top like M:I or OCEANS ELEVEN. But it is belivable.

Mamet sets ups the heist with care and, more importantly, WE SEE the guys planning it (time response on car-services, all the Patti Lupone subplot). It is real. Look for details like airing the uniforms and the papers so they dont smell like new!

BTW, another great detail: the Lupone part FAILS and Hackman has to improvise.

Great screenplay.

She recognized him. That part worked.
But she was supposed to go back to the gateroom so she could tell the guard to let him in. She got a little too scared and went home instead.

"What do we do now?"
"Enjoy it..."

Yeah, so she's not gonna go in Monday 'cause she'll think that she is now fired. That'll prob suck when she gets a call asking where she is!
