Ridiculous dialogue...

I know Mamet is known for clever dialogue...but seriously, it just takes you right out of it....hearing ridiculously "clever" dialogue constantly. Nobody talks like these people. It's just arrogant writing.

I actually agree with you. Its pretentious of him.

I am still a fan but yes you are right.

"How long is a chinamans name?" Lol geez.

Or.... "my motherfucker is so cool sheep count him."

His work is still good in spite of this dialogue quirk but imagine how stellar it'd be if he fixed that.
