When I read in the IMDb trivia that there was a bidding war for this show between MTV and Comedy Central it intrigued me. Would it have been better or worse on Comedy Central? Steve-O said a lot of the bits/stunts they did for the tv show didn't get cleared by MTV. Would Comedy Central have been more relaxed in that department?
shareInteresting. Comedy Central was the wild west back then. I bet they would have put just about anything on to get people watching. Look at the crap South Park used to get away with. MTV had a history, reputation, and was very influential on the youth. I'm sure they had a lot of restraints on the Jackass boys. I'm not sure the show would have been much different. Probably grosser. But being on MTV gave it a serious cool factor. But it would have definitely made Comedy Central a different beast.
