Walken and Hanks steal the show in my opinion

Leo was excellent, but Hanks and Walken especially were brilliant in this movie in my opinion.I think the performance by Walken in this movie is the best of his career.

Walken is great in the scene where they are eating at the fancy restaurant. A very good performance.

reply

I second that.

@antetches18 On the DVD making-of they show several takes of Walken, with Leo in the fancy restaurant, delivering the line, "Two hundred men sitting in that tiny social hall, watching her dance." First he delivers it boastfully, then quietly.

The third time he does it while breaking down, and we see Spielberg afterwards telling Walken that that take was wonderful, which is the one that we see in the movie.

reply

Walken, yeah
