Why would Charlie Kaufman have been hired to adapt this book into a movie? If he had actually made a movie about the book it would have been terrible. So what I'm getting at is was he actually originally hired to adapt the book to a movie or did he have his whole idea from the beginning? I guess he was hired to adapt it since they talk about the journalists reaction to his movie. Just doesn't make any sense to hire a guy known for mind trip movies to write a movie about a book about flowers.
