Watched It, Hated It

But on the second watching, I really really liked it.

This happens often for me. On a first pass, "different" films just don't work for me. I guess they clash with whatever wrong expectations I had.

On the second (and subsequent) viewings, I've already ditched my expectations and am able to "listen" to the film.

Went from a 5 to a 10.

Yep, I often have that same issue with "different" films, as you put it. Now it wasn't necessarily a problem for me with Adaptation, which I did somewhat surprisingly take to and loved right away.
But one example with me for instance was Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. Absolutely hated it the first time I saw it, liked it much better the second time before eventually loving it upon repeated viewings. Now I consider it one of my all-time faves. :-)
