I hope we get some decent callbacks/connections to previous episodes...

Samurai Jack typically featured a lot of one-off, stand alone episodes set to the general backdrop of Jack trying to return to the past.

There were rare two-parters, or episodes that referenced or fed off of a thread from a previous episode.

But evidently this 10 episode 'final season' seems like it will be more arc-based and continuous, serving as a giant conclusion to the series.

But I would also like it to perhaps link back to the original series and various elements/plot threads from it.

I think it would be a little shocking if the Scotsman didn't reappear or at least get referenced. I feel like the 'Guardian' HAS to be revisited at some point. But maybe there could be a few more nods to certain episodes.

I really want the Scotsman to appear. He's the only recurring character outside of Jack and Aku and it would be a shame if they left him out.

I won't spoil it, but Genndy was asked whether the Scotsman would return in the Comic Con panel, and he gave a very direct answer.

Now I'll just keep fingers crossed that the 'Guardian' figures into this final season. I feel like he HAS to.

Yeah, a final season with no scotsman would just feel wrong, especially since there's no reason not to bring him back. Since this season is going to be darker and edgier, it'll be good to have him around to provide some comic relief.

Plus, if this is 50 years later...the Scotsman would be VERY old...maybe by now his wife has died, and he's looking for revenge against Aku, making his story more personal.

The red-headed bounty hunter that Jack spared in one episode would be another nice return.

I mean, you never want to make too many call-backs and references just to do it, but I feel like having a final season that helps bring tie the series up and 'bring it all together' has value. It doesn't have to be a cameo-fest, but I feel like a satisfying balance could be struck.
