Dawn keeps leading on Tim
Who else thinks that Dawn constantly leads on Tim until the point where he asks her out and she says no. She seems like a prick tease to me. Thoughts?

Not really. At that point she's trapped in a relationship with a control freak.

She liked the attention from Tim that she wasn't getting from Lee, so yeah she did sort of let it go on a bit.
shareLee = alpha thug that satisfies Dawn in the 'intimacy side'. Probably not a great conversationalist or intellectually stimulating individual.
Tim = easy-to-manipulate beta bucks, that can be used for resources, entertainment, discussions, emotional tampon, and all kinds of other things as well.
Women like to have it all - best of both worlds, in this case.
Dawn wants to have all the power with none of the responsibility.
Writing women has never been Gervaise's strong point.

It's funny what happens when you watch it a few years later. I'd now say that they just had chemistry as friends, which Tim mis-took for something more. There was never anything to suggest that Dawn was physically attracted to him - she just enjoyed spending time with him.
And as someone above has said, she could sort of have her cake and eat it by having Lee for her physical needs and Tim for her emotional and intellectual needs.
And then the christmas special/finale changed all that.
daveyh (591) Woman are very complex and most times illogical, it is said that if the same man approached a woman, once with a wedding ring on and once without, the woman would show more interest in the ringed fingered man, as he is taken, as someone else desires him. Same with Tim and Dawn, you could be right that at first she put him in the friend zone but watch her reactions when Rachel comes into the equation.
