Scott's Boss Father Time

I think it's interesting that Peter Boyle plays Scott's boss in the first film and Father Time in the sequels. Are we to assume that his boss somehow transformed into Father Time a la The Santa Clause in between movies?

They probably enjoyed working with him and wanted to bring him back. They probably thought we wouldn't notice since in this movie he was covered in a beard.

I agree they probably enjoyed working with him but I don't think they minded us noticing. It was a funny nod to his role in the first film.

That would be an interesting spin-off...

I'm just confused as to why I cant fnd Peter Boyle's name in the cast line up on the imdb site ... ! ?

reply

I think it was irony more than the boss becoming father time tbh. Peter Boyle was just a loveable guy in general that they wanted to use him again; I don't blame them there.

reply

Yep. Boyle was a true professional and had wonderful comic timing.

I wonder if they ever scripted an explanation for it being the same person but never filmed it or it’s a deleted scene. Like if Scott says to Father Time something like “Hey I know you used to be my boss, but…”
